The young pitchers Yan Carlos Jimenez Ricardo and Dairian Batista Torres are part of the group of Holguin baseball players preselected for the 61st National Baseball Series.

The boy of only 17 years old (he will be 18 next July), Yan Carlos Jimenez, is in the list of the 53 called up for the preparation, while the 21-year-old left-handed Dairian Batista was called up at the last minute, as confirmed via internet by the pitching coaches Orelvis Avila Marrero and Oscar Gil Rey.

Regardless of whether they make the grade or not, the preparation will be very good for these youngsters from the Archeological Capital of Cuba, taking into account that the epidemiological situation prevented the development of the provincial championship and undoubtedly should influence a better result in the different events to participate when the epidemiological situation allows it.

The baseball situation in this municipality is quite far from the preparation and quality of coaches and activists, so it is necessary to work closer to reality and motivate the new generations to practice our national sport.

For now, these two young pitchers are a light at the end of a tunnel. Let's hope that they are also the awakening of a sport that in the 80's of the last century had Banes as a power in the province. But for that it is necessary to go step by step, without haste, but without pause.
