With a brief press release, the hotel chain MGM Muthu Hotels Cuba announced the upcoming opening of its Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Hotel in the eastern province of Holguin, in the Guardalavaca beach resort.
"Our greetings and best wishes to all. MGM Muthu Hotels Cuba is pleased to inform you that our new jewel in the Holguin destination, Guardalavaca Beach, the Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Hotel, will have its opening next July 1, 2021. We look forward to seeing you!" informed Rafael López, general director of Muthu Hotels MGM Cuba.
The new facility will be the Cubanacan Group's first sun and beach resort in eastern Cuba, with a five-star category. Almirante, of rationalist architectural style, with a tendency to use straight lines and pure volumes as a characteristic, makes it a modern building that combines attractive open spaces and integrates indoor and outdoor spaces as large areas of beautiful green areas, executed from a technical project, with a previously approved conceptual design, in which specialists from the Vertices Engineering and Design Services Company participated.
This facility has 514 rooms divided into six blocks that open in stages in the form of a pasture with visuals for the beach. Five of them are suites, 11 mini suites, four for handicapped persons and 53 will be located on the actual floor with category, standard superior services.
Among its many spaces, Almirante also has several restaurants, four of them specialized and one with buffet service. It will also have a lookout point at its highest point, from where one of Cuba's most internationally renowned beaches can be seen.
It also has a spa with four massage cabins and another one for couples; hostels and Jacuzzis for the treatment of various pathologies with thermal waters. A beauty salon equipped with the latest technology completes the offers of this great tourist facility, which belongs to the Muthu chain and is managed jointly with the Cubanacán Group.
A water park with an attractive pirate ship is the option that Almirante makes available for children. Located very close to the children's club where teenagers will also have their space, with game machines and Internet in what used to be the Pizza Nova cafeteria, one of the preserved facilities, which, together with the former La Roca discotheque, now a 24-hour snack bar, were integrated into the construction project as patrimonial exponents of the modern architectural movement that developed in Holguín in the 1960s.
In recent days, the facility was awarded the BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) Sustainable Construction Certificate, which recognizes the achievements of its design with a focus on environmental protection.
With this new and exclusive product, Muthu Hotels MGM continues its expansion on the island of Cuba, where it already has three hotels in Jardines del Rey (Gran Muthu Cayo Guillermo, Gran Muthu Imperial and Gran Muthu Rainbow), one in Varadero (Muthu Playa Varadero) and two in Havana (Gran Muthu Plaza and Gran Muthu Habana, opening soon).
Muthu Hotels MGM was founded in 1963, and began operations in India and Singapore with seven properties. As of 2012 it began its entry into the hotel business in countries like France, England, Scotland, Portugal and Spain, while in 2017 it arrived in the Americas and in recent years it has managed to build a portfolio with more than 50 hotels worldwide.
