On the evening of Friday, June 4, the Municipal Art Gallery inaugurated the personal exhibition HUMAN(A): una mirada (HUMAN(A): a look), by the Bananese plastic artist Yurima Gil Santiesteban.
Yurima Gil (1974) is a self-taught artist and illustrator who works mainly with the technique of sgraffito, using cardboard, crayon, pastel and graphite as support.
Visually her pieces mimic those conceived from the practice of engraving and are characterized by a certain baroque, profusion of details and an unusual treatment of the human figure, (not only the female) seen from a poetic and questioning prism.
This exhibition reveals itself as the most ambitious project of this artist and for its broad discourse of maturity and beauty, should be taken into account by anyone who considers himself a carrier of a sensitivity for art, conceived under undisputed assumptions of rigor and good taste.
The art gallery invites you not to miss the opportunity to confront the work of one of the most talented and unique artists of the territory.
